To further celebrate ‘Starlight’s 10th Anniversary, I’ve unearthed an alternative version of the ‘Loved And Never Lost’ video from the vaults for your viewing pleasure!
Looking back, this version, shot in Brighton with Mark Charlton with scenes on the streets in the early hours of the morning as well as at the old Pier, may actually be better than the video we ended up releasing back in the day. I am not sure? See what you think:
My third album ‘Starlight’ turns 10 years old this year, how crazy is that?
There’s a few ‘Starlight’ digipak CDs left which I’d like to find good homes for, so to celebrate the anniversary I’ve slashed the price of them on my Bandcamp store! Check it out here: https://terryemm.bandcamp.com/album/starlight
‘Starlight’ was produced with Michael Clarke (Andy Burrows, Clarkesville) and features string arrangements by Calina De La Mare (Tindersticks, Sophia) and features the tracks ‘Forever And After’, ‘For This’ and ‘Is There An End Your Love?’.
Also, we still have around 20 limited edition CD copies of the new album ‘Wish You Were Here’ left there too if you missed it first time around!
Some lovely reviews back for ‘Wish You Were Here’:
“A beautifully crafted collection of songs, exquisitely delivered by Emm and his musical compatriots… alongside the new country influences, Emm draws on a host of other styles to create something uniquely his. There is a soulfulness that infuses many tracks with a smooth sheen. On several of the songs, like ‘The Leaving’ Emm harmonizes with folk singer Maz O’Connor to stunning effect. Whether allowing their voices to intertwine with lilting countermelodies or layering her voice behind the music to create an otherworldly atmosphere, the combination is beautiful- 4/5”- RNR MAGAZINE
“A fine album, with Emm’s varied musical influences keeping the listener engaged throughout, and with O’Connors backing vocals a constant pleasure- 8/10”- AMERICANA-UK
“It is an assured comeback that just shows the reasons he was featured in an award-winning novel- 4/5”- SPILL MAGAZINE
“A carefully crafted velveteen 70s vintage sound that tugs on the heart strings with its wide-eyed sentiments of love and loss.”- MAVERICK MAGAZINE
“Languid summer fizz beckons a welcome return from missing, presumed lost, troubadour.”– AT THE BARRIER
“An introspective, melodically addictive, and really nice folk album…Wish You Were Here spins with honest words, a pop-folk sensibility, and even after all these folk singing years, a really decent desire to find love in a very often, and sadly, unmelodic world.”- FOLKING.COM
“While it’s been a long hibernation, ‘Wish You Were Here’ finds Terry Emm in top form; it’s good to welcome him back into the warmth of the sun.”- FOLK RADIO
Hey, so my first album in a very long time is out now! What started off as a fun project, mainly for posterity with some tracks recorded originally back in 2018, has actually become perhaps one of my favourite things I’ve ever recorded! Dare I say the best thing I’ve ever done?
Give it a stream or download and let me know what you think!
Must thank these wonderful people again for helping me make it happen- Jonathan McMillan, Lukas Drinkwater, Alban Low, Get Real Audio, Maz O’Connor, Rachel Lipsitz, Akcent Media, Azez Records, Shellshock Distribution.
Excited to have two of my songs ‘Here’ (original version) and ‘Loved And Never Lost’ featured in new documentary series ‘Green’ which is coming soon to TV Channels across Europe!
In ‘Green’, former world kitesurfing champion Antoine Auriol heads on 3 trips to 3 destinations to meet people who have chosen to improve their quality of life and well-being by living in harmony with and helping to regenerate nature!
